In a slightly remote location, about 800 meters from the periphery of Dietkirchen, is located, for some almost forgotten, a POW cemetery, where deceased soldiers of the 1st and 2nd World War are buried.

The cemetery was established as a cemetery of a prisoner of war camp from the 1st World War. In this camp, besides soldiers from many nations, mainly English and Irish prisoners of war were held.

At its peak, the camp housed more than 12,000 prisoners.
